Improving scores, one failure at a time

I grabbed the XBLA release of Guwange; while messing around with it I started playing the dual-stick X360 Arrange mode. Overall this is a fairly low difficulty arrange version; being able to slow and cancel bullets constantly helps. My biggest problem is I sometimes lose track of where I’m at…
I could get a much higher score if I didn’t die in the last stage, but meh. It’s not really interesting enough to keep plugging away at.

The last (and double) week of STGT 2k9! I spent/wasted a bunch of time sorting out some MAME stuff during this playweek; I still managed to improve upon my previous Garegga score….by about 4000 points. Didn’t even make it to Mad Ball Mk2.
Oh well, I’ll take it.

STGT 2k9 Week 4.
I am really bad at Psikyo games except for maybe Gunbird 2 (where I am only sorta bad) and Dragon Blaze (where I am just confused)
I think I was the lowest score on my team; I’m not even sure why I’m putting this video out for public viewing!

STGT 2k9 Week 3!
The announcer voice in this game is terrible. Other than that it plays like a slower Dangun Feveron and kinda bores me.
Also this was ‘dragon week’; in which we apparently operate under a very liberal definition of said week.

STGT 2k9 Week #2!
A game I know how to play! I had to unlearn all my Normal difficulty habits; had to actually learn boss patterns and change up where I bomb. Doubled my previous arcade score. My crappy consistency with sim45 held me back from a much better score, I think. Should have used more practice mode…

Getting the 8x miclus in the first stage of raiden fighters jet. I’ve done this twice, including this time. I feel like I’ve seen the Loch Ness Monster or something…

All clear of Deathsmiles; no EX stage, no death mode. I select the train stage first which probably reduces my potential score a bit; ideally I’d go with Halloween Town first but I suck at that stage at rank 3. Halloween Town gets rank 1 and the swamp gets rank 2 so I can avoid death mode for now.
First six stages go pretty well; I need to figure out a recharge strategy on the volcano stage. Castle and Tyrannosatan are a bombfest; although I do get the big cake from Jitterbug. I don’t have much practice with Tyrannosatan so there’s some improvement to be had there.

Cleared RF2 Normal with the Fairy. All grazing is unintentional! As of this post this is the top score on the RF2 Normal leader board.
This game is easy; it’s even more easy on ‘Normal’. Additionally, it’s pretty much cheating to use the fairy. The need to learn boss patterns is completely removed by just pressing bomb and riding the overpowered flame + invulnerability until it dies. You can see this was my last boss strategy!

Finally got the 100M point achievement for Raiden Fighters Aces, via Jet normal. Now to work on clearing Jet… I am also very terrible at Real Battle Phase 2.
